Step 6 of 14: Understand the Ceiling & Floor Hierarchy and Copy All Ceiling Levels

PL9.6: Copy a similar Car Ceiling as well as Related Car Walls

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Ceilings and floors both use a four-level hierarchy — from the smallest part up: Single Panel Items, Panel Rows, Panels, and finally the Car Ceiling or Car Floor itself. This step covers the ceiling side.

Prerequisites

  • Completed Single Car Wall Panels, Car Walls and Car Design as well as related rules described in the previous step.

Steps

1.) Understand the four-level roadmap for ceilings and floors. For ceilings and floors:

2.) Find similar components at each ceiling level. Find and note the manufacturer/BIM Library and RID for a similar Ceiling Panel Item, Ceiling Panel Row, Ceiling Panel, and Car Ceiling.

3.) Copy the Single Ceiling Panel Item. In Datamanager, copy the matching component using the same 3-step copy wizard as before.

4.) Copy the Ceiling Panel Rows, Ceiling Panels, and Car Ceiling. Repeat the same copy process for each of the remaining three levels.

Result

You have independent copies of all four ceiling hierarchy levels in the DigiPara BIM Library, ready to be configured and assembled.
