Step 5 of 17: Modify the Landing Door's Simplified 3D Geometry and Save into the Database

PL4.5: Modify the simplified 3D Geometry in Liftdesigner and save back

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • The landing door's profile group is prepared.

Steps

1.) Add a new profile. In the Developer Work Area's developer sections, add a new profile. It is placed at the base point of the landing door.

2.) Define the profile's length (DX). In the profile's Properties window, set an appropriate formula for DX according to your technical requirements — for example 2*DD_DW + 50 — where DD_DW defines the door width.

3.) Define the profile's Z-position. Set an appropriate formula for Z0 [mm] — for example 210 - 0.5*PDZ + HEIGHT, then refine it by adding the 3D parameter for the current landing door height (expression [1]), so the final formula includes + 210 and results in the profile sitting 95 mm (half of DZ) from the landing door's base point in Z.

4.) Define the profile's Y-position. Set an appropriate formula for Y0 [mm] — for example 0.5*PDY + DT_S_Y0 (expression [31]) — resulting in the profile sitting 27 mm (half of DY) from the landing door's base point in Y.

5.) Change the profile's color. Select the new profile and, in its Properties window, change its color to Color RID 10000 under Common Components. Check the result in the Classic 3D View docking window.

6.) Add and adjust a second profile's shape. Add another profile and adjust its shape. Define its DY size using the sill depth 3D parameter DT_S_Y (expression [30]), and its Z0 position (expression [32]).

7.) Copy the finished profile. Select the finished profile and press Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V — the new copy has the same size and position as the original.

8.) Reposition the copy in X. Define an appropriate formula for the copied profile's X0 [mm] position.

9.) Mirror the copy by reversing its signs. Change the signs (+ / -) in the copied profile's X0 position formula so it sits correctly on the opposite side.

10.) Save the finished landing door into the DigiPara BIM Library. Save the component. Do this after each processing step on the BIM component's geometry, not just once at the end.

Result

The landing door has its own custom profiles — correctly sized, positioned, and colored.

The finished landing door — description, door widths, parameters, and custom profiles — is saved in the DigiPara BIM Library.
