Kind Code

Kind Codes define the type or the status of a patent publication. Kind Codes usually consist of a character and a number appearing right to the patent number. The kind code documents the history of a patent publication. For example kind code “A1” of an EP patent specifies an European patent application published with European search report. “B1” reflects a granted European patent.
