How to build advanced queries

In this video, we'll guide you through building a complex query to find specific tech companies.

Let's imagine that we're a VC investor looking for early-stage deep tech startups with strong technology and have a female founder. We'll also specify that the companies are European with no presence in the U.S. Here's how we can accomplish that πŸ‘‡

First, we'll start on the company's page and click "Advanced Search."

Filtering by Market & Type

  1. Scroll down to "Technologies"

  2. Select "Deep Tech."

Defining Geographic Range:

  1. Go to the "Location" screen.

  2. Click "HQ" and choose "Europe."

  3. Click "All" and select "United States."

  4. Hover over the U.S. data point and click "Exclude."

Filtering by Company Size:

  1. Go to the "Size" page.

  2. Select "Seed" and "Early Growth."

Funding Timeline:

  1. On the "Last Round Date" page, set funding to no later than the end of 2023.

Identifying Founders:

  1. Go to the "Founders" page.

  2. Filter by selecting "Female."

Interest in Patents:

  1. On the "Patents" page, select companies with patents.

Final Steps:

  1. Click "Apply" to view the list of matching companies.

  2. Sort the list by Dealroom Signal

  3. Save the search to get notified about new matching companies.
