Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

This article shows you how to create a new tag in Hyver to help you organize and categorize items like findings, assets, and remediation assets. Tags make it easier to filter, search, and track related items across the platform.

Steps

1. Select the Items You Want to Tag

  • Go to the Findings, Assets, or Remediation Assets section.

  • Select the row(s) for the item(s) you want to tag.

2. Open the Edit Menu

  • Click the Edit button to open the item editor.

3. Create a New Tag

  • Click inside the Tags field. A dropdown with existing tags appears:

  • Type the name of your new tag.

  • In the dropdown, you’ll see Create tag: [your tag name] — click this option to create the tag:

  • Each new tag is automatically assigned a color, which is used throughout the interface.

4. Apply the Tag

  • Click Update to save and assign the new tag to your selected items.

Important notes

  • Tags are shared across all item types — the same tag can be used for findings, assets, and remediation assets.

  • Tags are color-coded automatically when created.

  • Tags are visible to your entire team and appear consistently across the platform.

  • Tags are also included when importing or exporting assets.
