Defining Cloud Engagements

Set up cloud-based security assessments for AWS and Azure environments in the Cye Exposure Management Platform.

Updated today

Overview

Cloud engagements in the Cye Exposure Management Platform assess your organization's cloud environments — like AWS or Azure — to identify potential attack paths, misconfigurations, and security gaps. These are automated, ongoing assessments that require integration with your cloud platform. Once connected, the Cye Exposure Management Platform scans the environment daily to provide updated findings and risk insights.

What is a Cloud Engagement?

A cloud engagement is a type of assessment focused on your organization’s cloud infrastructure. It analyzes cloud-specific risks, including:

  • Misconfigured permissions

  • Exposed services

  • Weak identity or access controls

  • Potential lateral movement routes

The results are integrated into your Org. Attack Graph, Findings, and Maturity dashboards, just like with other engagements.

Available Cloud Engagement Types

  • AWS Engagement — Integrates with Amazon Web Services

  • Azure Engagement — Integrates with Microsoft Azure

Each engagement pulls configuration and security data directly from your cloud provider.

Note: Setup is typically performed with support from the CYE services team.

Important notes

  • Cloud assessments require initial integration — reach out to your CYE account manager for support

  • Only authorized users with proper roles can manage integration and engagement setup

  • These scans are automatic once the engagement is active — no manual triggering required

Wrap-up / Next Steps

Cloud environments evolve quickly — and so do their risks. By defining cloud engagements in the Cye platform, you gain continuous visibility into misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and exposure across your AWS or Azure infrastructure.
