Can't access your 2FA code?

What to do if you lose access to your Hyver two-factor authentication (2FA) code.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

Lost your phone? Uninstalled your authenticator app? This guide explains how to regain access to Hyver if you can’t use your 2FA code. You'll either need help from your administrator or a previously saved recovery code.

1. Choose a recovery option

You have two ways to reset your 2FA:

  • Option 1: Contact your administrator
Ask your Hyver admin to reset your 2FA and send you a new recovery code.

  • Option 2: Use your saved recovery code
If you saved the recovery code when you first set up 2FA, you can use it now to reset your authentication.

2. Use your recovery code to reset 2FA

  1. Go to the Hyver login page.

  2. Click Use your recovery code (this option appears when you don’t have access to a 2FA code):

  3. Enter the recovery code — either from your admin or your own saved copy:

  4. Click Continue.

3. Set up 2FA again

Once your recovery code is accepted:

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to scan a new QR code using your authenticator app.

  2. Enter the code generated by the app.

  3. Click Verify.

Hyver will generate a new recovery code for you.

4. Save your new recovery code

Important: Copy and store your new recovery code somewhere secure. You’ll need it to reset 2FA again in the future if you lose access.

Wrap-up / Next Steps

Regaining access to Hyver is straightforward as long as you have a recovery code or support from your admin. Once you're back in, take a moment to save your new code — it’s your backup plan for next time.
