Why does the battery heat up when stored for a long time?

Updated over 12 months ago

Storing a lithium battery at full charge for an extended period can considerably diminish its lifespan. To promote safe storage and maximize battery longevity, a fully charged battery will initiate its auto-discharging function, gradually reducing its charge level to approximately 60%. This auto-discharging process may generate some heat, which is a normal occurrence.
