Errors when placing a parlay bet

Find out what different errors could mean when you're trying to place parlay bet and what you can do.

Some selections can’t be combined in a parlay. If you try, your bet slip shows an error. Find yours below to see why it appeared and what to do.

“This selection is correlated with another”

This message appears when you try to place a parlay that includes selections that are tied to the same outcome or heavily influence each other. These are called correlated selections—and they’re not allowed in standard parlays.

Examples

  • Arsenal to win + Arsenal over 1.5 team goals

  • Over 2.5 goals + Both teams to score – Yes

If Arsenal score two or more goals, they’re much more likely to win, so the two outcomes aren’t independent.

What you can do

  • Remove one of the linked selections.

  • Use Bet Builder to combine them in a same game parlay.

  • Place single bets instead.

“This selection can’t be parlayed”

This message means a selection can’t be combined in your parlay. For example, you can’t combine two matches in one parlay if they involve the same team and start within 24 hours of each other.

Examples

Lakers vs Celtics (Monday 19:00) + Warriors vs Lakers (Tuesday 19:00): less than 24 hours apart

What you can do

  • Select Remove next to the message to take the selection out of your parlay.

  • For same-team matches, place two separate parlays, each with only one of the matches.

  • Place the removed selection as a single bet.
