Shortcuts and usability improvements (comments, variable filters, delete unused, duplicate variables)

Comments

A calculation can now have comments within the body of the calculation. A calculation is started by using the "#" symbol and then following it with text. It is very useful for giving some context to the calculation, especially when the calculation becomes long and complex.

Variable Filters

We have introduced filters that allow a user to filter the variable configuration table by Valid Variables, Variables in a warning state, Variables that are in use in the calculation and Variables that are not used in the calculation.

  • All - Display All variables in the list.

  • Valid - Display the Variables that are not in a warning state

  • Warnings - Display all variables in a Warning State

  • Used - Display all variables that are used in the calculation

  • Unused - Display all variables that are not used in the calculation

We have also added a "Delete Unused Variables" button that will allow a user to quickly remove all unused variables to ensure their calculations do not have any unnecessary variables in the Variable Configuration Table.

Duplicate Variables

A user can duplicate a variable with a single click. Simply click the symbol shown below to duplicate the required variable.

This will create a new variable that is appended with "_1" to differentiate it from the original variable. It will have the same source column but the user can apply specific variable configurations, such as convert the units or apply a default value.
