Pasting a calculation and selecting the sources
A user can now paste in a calculation that they have previously built elsewhere and then simply select the sources from the column list.
The example below shows the formula m*c*dT (Heat Energy). The user simply pasted this calculation. The variables m, c & dT were detected and created automatically.
The variable's source columns are shown to be in a warning state as they have not been selected. The variables are also underlined with an amber squiggly line to depict the warning state.
The user then selects the source column that each variable should be linked to. This will remove the warning state and the calculation will now compute successfully.
The calculation is then complete and the output calculation column can be used in visualisations or further calculations.
