Clicking on the Chart Design Mode button brings up the configuration panel where the Headline Figure chart created earlier can be customised further.

Headline Figures utilise a single point of data. This could be a folded column on the DataGrid or a Single Value. All customisation or configuration done are related to this data. So, there is no need for a data selection step, as you would see in Pie charts or Combo charts.

Configure Headline Figure Chart

The fields available in the Chart Design Mode's Configure panel give access to fields that:

  • Users have defined during the creation. E.g.

    • Name

    • Data (Columns or Single Values)

    • Fold (Only in the case the Data being shown is from a Column)

  • have been updated automatically with defaults

    • Number Format

    • Colour decisions (Base and Conditional)

Number Format

Dynamic

Dynamic is the default number format option for all Headline Figure charts when they are created. This allows the precision of the numbers to be defined by an algorithm defined by CoolPlanetOS.

Custom

Users can choose to override this by selecting and defining a custom format. We provide a few formats out of the box, which can be further customised to your needs.

Colour

The Headline Figure has a default base colour which is White. The colour can be changed within the colour modal window using the slider, colour picker or one of the predefined colour swatches.
