Understanding the opportunities on the Glidepath

In the Opportunity Register that populates the Glidepath, each opportunity that you create is given a reference id and it is this id that is shown on your marker icons on the Glidepath. In the screenshot below you can see that each marker icon is colour coded and, in some cases, you will see a "lightbulb" icon with a number beside it. This is what they mean.

Marker Icon Colours

Each individual marker icon (the coloured blocks with a reference id) relates to its specific opportunity in the opportunity register as shown in the screenshot below.

Marker Colour

Meaning

Blue

The opportunity that this icon relates to is at the "Idea" stage in its development.

Pink

The opportunity that this icon relates to is at the "Qualified Idea" stage in its development.

Green

The opportunity that this icon relates to is at the "In Progress" stage in its development.

Purple

The opportunity that this icon relates to is at the "Realised" stage in its development.

The Lightbulb Icon

The lightbulb icon shows you that there are several opportunities with the same approximate target date, so to make this more readable, we cluster them together and add a count. In the example below, you will see that the bulb icon has "5" beside it. This means that there are five opportunities with the same approximate end date. By clicking on this icon, you will be presented with a list of the individual opportunities, and then you can scroll between them to review them as you wish.

Tip

If you are seeing too many "lightbulbs" you can use the timeline adjustment feature at the bottom of the chart to "zoom in" to a more granular timeline and the opportunities should de-cluster into their individual markers.

Series Guide

Your Glidepath displays the following series;

  • Target: The inputs from the carbon and energy targets input in the settings page generate the carbon and energy target series on the chart. This will be a straight line unless you edit the target table in the settings page.

  • Baseline: The inputs from the baseline field in the settings page are used to generate the baseline on the chart.

  • Current Trajectory: This is a stepped line which is generated by the Opportunities input in the Opportunity Register. The series 'steps down' to the next opportunity on the target date of the opportunity. The height of the 'step down' on the Y axis is determined by the carbon or energy savings of the opportunity.

  • Actual: This is an optional series that can be added to your Glidepath, using a datasource which tracks your site's actual progress towards your targets.

Each series displays as a solid line until the current date on the chart, and changes to a dashed line as the series continues into the future.
