Overview
The Performance tab on the Opportunity Register provides a live, data-driven view of how each opportunity is performing over time. This replaces the previous static, manually entered annualised savings figure with a dynamic view that updates automatically as new data comes in.
The Performance Period
Central to the Performance tab is the Performance Period. This is a configurable date range that defines the window over which savings are actively monitored, running from the start of savings through to the end of the monitoring period. It is typically set to multiple years depending on the client agreement, commonly three years.
The Performance Period is set on the opportunity and determines the range shown across all charts and tables in the Performance tab.
What is in the Performance tab
Performance Dashboard
A high-level summary at the top of the tab showing two key figures:
Total Cumulative Savings, the total savings delivered from the start of the Performance Period to the most recent data point
Annualised Savings, the estimated yearly savings rate based on current performance
Both figures update automatically as new data flows in.
Performance vs Baseline Chart
A time-series chart comparing Adjusted Baseline consumption against Actual consumption over the Performance Period, with Cumulative Savings plotted alongside. This gives a clear visual picture of whether savings are being delivered and how they are trending over time.
Resource Savings Details
A per-resource breakdown table showing the following for each resource linked to the opportunity:
Baseline consumption
Actual consumption
Energy Cost Savings
Carbon Cost Savings
Saving to Date
Date of last data received
Values are summed across all resources to give the opportunity total.
Monthly Savings Breakdown
A month-by-month table covering the full Performance Period. Completed months display their savings figures. Incomplete months display a placeholder until the month closes. This allows performance to be tracked and reviewed at a granular level over time.
Savings modes in the Performance tab
Performance savings can be entered or calculated in two ways.
Manual Entry
All performance savings values are entered directly by the user for each resource. This mode is always available regardless of how the site is configured and is the right choice when datasources are not yet in place.
Datasource Derived
A Baseline datasource and an Actual datasource are linked directly to the opportunity. The system calculates savings automatically using:
Baseline - Actual = Savings
All performance figures are then derived from this calculation using the conversion rates configured in the Site Resource Table for each resource, including energy cost savings, carbon savings, and carbon cost savings. Figures update automatically as new consumption data flows in, with no manual input required.
For Datasource Derived mode to work, the following must be in place:
A Baseline datasource linked to the opportunity
An Actual datasource linked to the opportunity
A fully configured Site Resource Table entry for each resource, including unit price, carbon intensity factor, and carbon price datasources where applicable
