You can duplicate Equipment, Spaces, and Datasources from the Organise section. Each level behaves slightly differently. Details below.
Datasource Duplication
How to:
In Organise, locate the datasource row you want to copy.
Click the ellipsis (...) at the end of the row.
Select Duplicate Datasource.
In the modal, choose one of the options below and confirm.
Options:
Retain Type Configuration
Creates an exact copy of the datasource, including its current type (e.g., DataPoint, Calculation, Constant, etc.).
Outcome: The duplicated datasource keeps the same type configuration as the original.
Discard Type Configuration (set to “Unbound”)
Creates a copy without a type (it becomes Unbound).
Outcome: You must bind it to a DataPoint or create a new calculation before it can be used or show any history.
Note: The duplicated datasource’s name is suffixed with “copy” so you can easily find and reconfigure it.
Equipment/ Space Duplication
How to:
In Organise, find the Equipment or Space you want to copy.
Click the ellipsis (...) on that row.
Select Duplicate.
In the modal, choose from the options below and confirm.
Options:
Child Assets
Also, duplicate the selected node’s immediate child assets.
Outcome: Copies of the child assets are created under the original asset.
Datasources
Also, duplicate datasources associated with the selected node.
Outcomes:If Datasources is selected without Child Assets, only the current node’s datasources are duplicated.
If Datasources and Child Assets are both selected, the datasources for each duplicated asset are duplicated as well.
When Datasources is selected, you’ll also choose how types are handled (applies to all copied datasources in this action):
Retain Type Configuration - exact copies keep their types.
Discard Type Configuration - copies are created as Unbound and must be bound or recalculated before use.
Note: Type handling is bulk-applied to all datasources included in this duplication. There is no per-datasource override.
Naming & Searchability
All duplicated Equipment, Spaces, and Datasources are suffixed with “copy”.
This makes copied items easy to search for so you can quickly bind to new DataPoints, adjust calculations, or rename as needed.
Tips
Bulk choice for types: The retain/discard type selection applies to every datasource included in the duplication; there’s no individual toggle in the modal.
Where do copies go? When duplicating assets, the copies are created under the original parent of the duplicated asset (Example: "Compressor 1" has a parent of "Compressor House". The duplicate Equipment, named "Compressor 1 Copy", is also given a parent of "Compressor House".
