Dashboards, when created, are available to the Owner. The audience of a dashboard can be extended, and any user with access to a Dashboard can utilise this feature to quickly duplicate and customise their dashboards to suit their needs.

How do I duplicate a dashboard?

The icon to allow users to duplicate a dashboard is available with the other dashboard action icons. The set of icons seen is variable based on whether the user has Edit Access or View Only access.

Edit access

When a user has edit access, the duplicate icon is nestled between the Edit and Publish icons.

View Only Access

When a user has View Only Access, the duplicate icon is seen as the only option a viewer has on the dashboard.

Confirmation

The user has the option to either duplicate or cancel. When duplicated, the copy opens in a new tab.

Example: You can continue to edit, share and publish this newly created dashboard as required. For example, by duplication and changing date ranges, it becomes self-evident that the 2021 Energy consumption was high.

Tips

Things to remember when a dashboard is duplicated:

  • The user duplicating the dashboard becomes the Owner of the copy.

  • The copy of the dashboard will always be created in an unpublished state.

  • The name of the newly duplicated dashboard is appended with "Copy of". Update it as required.
