Weather data is available in CoolPlanet OS and can be accessed to be displayed in charts or imported into Explore to be used within DataGrids and calculations.
A site can have a weather station assigned to it to make the process easier. CoolPlanet OS has access to thousands of Weather Stations globally, giving you access to the following data:
Temperature
Humidity
Weather conditions (String - Raining, Sunny etc.)
Sunrise/ Sunset (Boolean)
Which weather station is assigned to my site?
When a weather station has been assigned to your Site, you see the following:
The name of the Weather Station is visible on the breadcrumb under the Site (in this example, the site name is Edible Oils.)
The Assign button is deactivated. Hovering the mouse on the assign button confirms this further.
How do I assign a weather station to a site?
A weather station is Assigned to a site during the setup of a site in CoolPlanet OS. If it still needs to be set up, clicking Weather in the left navigation brings you to the map of weather stations in the area to pick one from.
Here is an example of a site (Benton Tyneview Park) that does not have a Weather Station assigned to it as yet.
b. Changing a Weather Stations
To change or view other available weather stations, click on Weather Stations in the breadcrumb under the site name to be brought to the map of weather stations in the area.
How far back does the weather get updated?
Once the weather station has changed and the system has caught up with changes, you should have five years' worth of weather data. Give the system 24 hours from changing the weather station to view all five years of data. If you do not see changes after 24 hours, don't hesitate to get in touch with our customer support team.
More data from your specific Weather Station?
Some weather stations give you additional data to take this further. These do not get set up by default. Contact the CoolPlanet OS support team to set them up once the weather station has been created.
