Your Cinode profile is the foundation for presenting your professional experience. Importing a CV is the fastest way to populate your profile with structured content that you can review, adjust, and improve afterwards.

To use CV import, you need access to your personal profile in Cinode. No additional modules are required.

Before Importing

Before uploading your CV, make sure the following requirements are met:

  • Your profile must be empty or contain only skills
This applies regardless of the CV language.

  • A CV can only be imported in one language at a time.

If your profile already contains other information, the import option will not be available.

How we import CV content

Cinode analyses the structure and content of your CV and maps it to profile sections. Understanding how this works will help you achieve better results.

General structure tips

  • CVs with a simple, linear layout are imported more accurately than those with complex designs.

  • Two-column layouts or sidebars may cause text to merge or be interpreted incorrectly.

  • Role title, dates, company, and description work best when presented in the following order:
Role title → Date → Company → Description

  • If the company name appears first, content may be imported into the Presentation section instead of Projects and assignments.

  • LinkedIn profiles exported as PDF files are often well structured and usually import well.

Employers section

If your CV contains a separate list of employers, each employer may be imported as a separate project or assignment. This is often not desirable, which is why employer-only sections are commonly removed before import.

What is imported and when

Cinode applies specific rules when importing content from a CV:

  • Presentation
Imported only if the Presentation section is empty in the current language.

  • Skills and Languages
Always added from the CV (append-only).
You can choose to exclude skills during import by using the skills checkbox.

  • Work experience, Education, Training
Imported only if the corresponding section is empty.

  • Employers
Imported only if the section is empty and AI-based parsing is used.

  • Not supported for import
Other skills, References, Commitments, and Publications must always be added manually.

Import your CV

  1. Go to Home → Profile.

  2. Click the green button on the right to import your CV.

  3. Upload your CV in PDF or Word format.

  4. Wait for the import to complete.

Review and improve your profile

After the import, review each profile section carefully.

  • Click the pen icon to edit text and dates.

  • Add missing information manually where needed.

You can also use Cinode’s AI tools while editing:

  • Improve to rewrite and enhance text

  • Translate to create versions in other languages

  • Characters to adjust length and tone

Manual editing and AI tools work together to help you create clear, professional, and client-ready content.

Saving changes

  • Save updates only the current CV.

  • Save to many… updates multiple CVs and/or the profile.

If you only have one CV, the profile and CV mirror each other and use a single Save option.
If you have multiple CVs, you can choose which CVs to update when saving.

Language handling

Changes made in one language do not update other languages. Each language version must be reviewed and edited separately.

What is not imported

The following sections are never included in the import and must be added manually:

  • Other skills

  • References

  • Commitments

  • Publications
