Sign in Someone Else (on app)

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you have the appropriate permissions, you can sign someone else into site from your own mobile device. Their sign-in details — including time, photo, and GPS — will automatically sync with their timesheet. This ensures accurate records and no lost working time.

Search for individual

  • Select the Contacts tile in the Chime mobile app.

  • Use the search function to locate the person you want to sign in.

  • Select the individual.

The individual’s profile screen will now appear.

Sign them in & Take Photo

  • Tap the Sign In button.

  • Choose the site where the individual will be signed in

  • Take a photo of the individual.

Ensure their head and shoulders are clear and visible.

NB: They should not be wearing hats, sunglasses, or anything obscuring their face.

Read & Sign Documents

  • If documents are required to be read - present them on your device

  • The individual must read and digitally sign them using your phone.

  • Select Finish to complete the process.

Well done - The individual is now signed into site and ready to work!

Repeat the same process at the end of the day to sign the person out.

Use Case

This feature is mainly for site managers / Site Supervisors or anyone with the necessary permissions.

Example:

If John Smith (operative) arrives at site but his phone has run out of battery, the site manager can sign him in using their own device. John Smith can then start work immediately, and all details will still sync with his timesheet.

💡 Tips

  • Ensure the photo clearly matches the individual for compliance purposes.

  • Remind the operative to sign documents themselves on your device.

  • This process helps avoid delays when someone’s phone isn’t working or charged.
