Signing in and out of site - Set up Permissions

Determine the relevant permissions for access control in and out of your sites

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Each site in Chime can have its own signing in and out requirements, giving you full flexibility on a site-by-site basis.

For example, you can decide whether you want a selfie to be mandatory, whether to allow sign-ins only within a geofence, or whether a site tablet uses QR code and/or PIN login. This ensures you can tailor sign-in rules to meet the safety, compliance, and practical needs of each site.

Steps

  1. Select the Chime Time tile.

  2. At the top, select the Sites tab.

  3. From the list, select the site you want to configure.

  4. On the Site Profile Screen, look to the right-hand side for the Signing box.

Within this box, tick or untick the relevant options:

Enable/Disable

Turn signing in/out on or off for the site. (Blue = enabled).

Picker or Signing In Point

Choose between:

  • Picker: Workers select the site from a pick list on mobile.

  • Signing In Point: Workers sign in at a fixed site tablet.

Allow Sign-Ins Inside Geofence Only

Restricts sign-ins to the designated geofence area. Workers outside the boundary cannot sign in.

Restricted to Site Directory Members

Limits sign-in to specific people added to the site directory. (Not commonly used).

QR Code Login via Tablet

Enable QR code scanning as a sign-in method on the site tablet.

Selfie Required

Require users to take a selfie when signing in. (Recommended for verification).

Face Match Required

Optional: compares selfies with profile pictures and displays a face match icon on records.

Pin Site

Pins this site to the top of the list (like a favourite).

Once finished, your site’s sign-in and out settings will be applied immediately.

💡 Tips

  • Always enable selfies for better compliance and security.

  • Use geofence restrictions for high-security or safety-sensitive sites.

  • Combine QR and PIN methods on site tablets to give teams flexibility.

  • Only use restricted to site directory if you want very tight control over access.
