A step-by-step guide to receiving electronic bills of lading (eBLs) from the HMM:
1. Login to the HMM Portal and request to connect with the CargoX Platform
Login to the HMM Portal and choose to connect with the CargoX Platform. More information about this step can be found here.
During the process, the shipper is redirected to the CargoX Platform, where the following actions are available, depending on whether the company already has a CargoX Platform account:
a. If the company already has a CargoX company account:
The user logs into the CargoX Platform.
b. If the company does not have a CargoX company account:
Simple registration is required. All company details from the HMM portal will be pre-filled in the CargoX Platform registration form, ensuring a faster registration process and matching details across both portals.

The HMM Portal and the CargoX Platform accounts can also be connected when the shipper requests an electronic bill of lading (eBL) for the first time and selects the CargoX Platform as the preferred platform. During the process of switching the bill of lading (BL) to an eBL, they are redirected to the CargoX Platform to complete the process.
Upon completing one of the above steps, your HMM portal and CargoX Platform accounts will be connected, as shown in the screenshot below:

Connecting the accounts allows the company to receive eBLs from HMM on the CargoX Platform. HMM customers registering now will enjoy free eBL transfer until the end of 2026.
2. Add the consignee as a contact on the CargoX Platform
To get started with exchanging documents on the CargoX Platform, you will need to connect with the consignee to whom you will transfer the eBL. Here's how: How to connect with other companies and send an invite.

We suggest you talk to your contact in the company you want to connect with on the CargoX Platform and inform them that you will invite them to the CargoX Platform. They may already be registered on the CargoX Platform - in this case, they just need to give you the email of their CargoX Platform account. This will speed up the process!
After you send the invitation to the consignee, they need to accept it to establish the connection for exchanging documents.
Success
After the invite is accepted, both companies will see each other in their contacts list inside the CargoX Platform.
