Updated this week

Warning

2. Decide who will pay for the transfer

  1. I will pay if you have enough units (π•Œ) available in your company account, the envelope transfer will begin. If not, you will be presented with an option to purchase additional units (π•Œ) or send the envelope with the collect payment option.

  2. Recipient will pay (pay to collect) the chosen recipient will cover the costs of the transfer. It is recommended to contact the recipient and check if they agree to cover the cost of the transfer! The payment summary will change accordingly, showing zero cost for the issuer and displaying the cost summary to the recipient.

Warning

Carefully review which documents you are about to transfer, and especially to whom, as the transfer is irreversible because the ownership information passes to the recipient via the immutable (unchangeable) blockchain transaction.

Tip

To save time, you can choose to skip this step when sending envelopes. However, please note that if the pay to collect option is possible to select, this step will still be presented, even if you have chosen to skip it. You can modify this setting at any time in the Preferences section.

3. Digitally sign the transfer

To confirm the transfer, you must authenticate and digitally sign it with your blockchain key. To perform this follow this guide.

4. Check the status of the sent envelope

If you have chosen:

  1. I will pay the CargoX Platform will generate the required blockchain transactions. You can check the status of the transaction in your Sent folder. Once the green DELIVERED tag appears, the transfer is completed and the ownership of the documents in the envelope has passed from you to the recipient.

  2. Recipient will pay (pay to collect), the status of the sent envelope is Waiting to be accepted and will only change after the recipient reacts to it. If the receiver:

    • rejects the incoming envelope, you are notified about the action and the envelope is returned to your Returned folder.

    • accepts the incoming envelope, the status of the envelope on your end will change to Sent (and will show the exact timestamp of blockchain transfer).

Info

Every document that has a record of authenticity or transfer of ownership on blockchain requires payment for the service only once. All the other parties involved in the transfer of that document partake in the process free of charge, and they can forward, return or finalize (release/accomplish or destroy) the document free of charge.
