Google Analytics 4 Integration with Jebbit (Beta)

Updated over a month ago

With Jebbit's enhanced Google Analytics 4 (GA4) integration, you can programmatically configure your GA4 account to measure the effectiveness of your Jebbit experiences. By authenticating your Jebbit brand with your GA4 account, you can create audiences tied to each campaign to attribute views, engagements, completions, and website redirects, ultimately tracking your ROI from Jebbit. Once authenticated, you'll gain insights into revenue, average order value, conversion rates and time on site allowing you to measure the direct impact and lift from your experiences.

How it works

Connect Google Analytics 4 to Jebbit

  1. Navigate to the Integrations page within the Attributes parent tab.

  2. Search or scroll to Google Analytics and click Connect.

    • Note: Customers already connected to Google Analytics will need to reauthorize their accounts to access the new measurement capabilities.

  3. Copy and paste your GA4 Measurement ID.

  4. Select the types of events you wish to send:

Event Types

  • On Screen Load: page_view
Fires a page view event each time a screen is loaded.

    • Passes a unique URL (e.g., /h6u0jr7c/screen/4ql1sdsv) and Screen Name.

    • Useful for tracking user navigation within the experience.

  • On Screen Response: custom_event
Captures user responses and question names to segment data effectively.

    • Examples:

      • How do conversion rates compare by age group?

      • What percentage of users purchase recommended products?

  • Lead Capture: generate_lead
Fires an event when an email or phone number is captured (PII not included).

  • Add to Cart: add_to_cart
Triggers when users add products to the cart in Shopify or BigCommerce.

If your parent page uses Google Tag Manager, follow these steps to properly configure the setup and ensure Jebbit events are sent to Google Analytics 4.

Audience Permissions

Within the Audience section, you can grant the following permissions to your GA Account:

  • Create Jebbit Audiences

    • Automatically creates four audiences per campaign (View, Engagement, Completion, Website Redirect). These Audiences give you the flexibility to attribute revenue-related actions to the events above.

    • Four additional audiences will be created across the entire brand to track ROI metrics across all campaigns.

    • You can always opt-out at the brand or campaign level and delete specific audiences.

  • Read Access to Aggregate Data

    • Enables Jebbit to pull data to generate reports on revenue, average order value, and conversion rates.

Setting Up Lookback Windows

Configure the lookback window to attribute events to specific actions on your website. The lookback window defaults to a 30 day window.

Authorization

Click Save and Authorize to sync Jebbit with your Google Analytics account. Ensure you have the necessary Google login credentials. If you personally do not have access, find someone on your team to authorize the two accounts.

Campaign-Level Controls

  1. In the Builder Map advanced menu dropdown, select Add Vendor Pixels. You will notice that your GA Measurement ID will appear.

  2. You have the option to modify or replace the Measurement ID for specific campaigns.

  3. Control campaign-level tracking settings:

    • Send data to parent page: Pass events via postMessage to a parent page. They will fire with an action ofm’fireGTM’.

    • Enable Campaign Events: Toggle event tracking on/off.

Within your settings you have the flexibility to turn events from firing and the ability to create Audiences.

Launching

  • If using a standard launch link you must use a custom domain that matches your website.

  • For Companion and Lightbox, this will work for new launches with the updated embed code. You can add to an existing campaign but you'll need to swap out for the new iframe code.

FAQs

What are the types of insights I can get from this integration?

Below are some of the metrics and use cases you will be able to track attributed to Jebbit Experiences:

  • Amount of revenue

  • Average Order Value

  • Number of transactions

  • Conversion Rate

  • Average Order value

  • Time spent on site

All metrics can be compared to users that did not view, engage, complete, or be redirected from your experiences.

Can I fire GA events without authenticating my Google account?

Yes, authentication is only required for audience creation and reporting features. Events will still fire with a valid Measurement ID.

Are there limits on Audience creation?

Yes, GA has a limit of 100 Audiences. You can delete Audiences from GA or opt-out at the brand or campaign level within Jebbit.

Does this integration work for experiences embedded in an iframe?

For instructions on how to get this integration to work for experiences embedded in an iframe, see Track Jebbit Events in Google Analytics 4.

Can I access reports without using Jebbit-created audiences?

You will need Audiences to pull reports, however, you don’t need all the Audiences. For example, if you see not value in attributing revenue by whether a user ‘viewed’ a Jebbit Experience, you may want to delete the ‘View’ Audiences to save space for additional Audiences you may want to use within GA.

Will revenue reports be available in the Jebbit platform?

Currently, reports are not available within Jebbit but can be configured through Google Analytics using the Audiences Jebit created on your behalf or by request from your Jebbit Customer Success representative.
