BindTuning themes empower you to fully align your SharePoint environment with your brand identity, including the precise use of custom typography.

This article guides you through the process of uploading your custom font files directly to the Customizer Tool for later use in any of your theme designs.

Upload your custom font files

Follow these steps to upload your font files to the Customizer Tool:

  1. From the BindTuning Themes Catalog, mouse over the theme you wish to customize and click "Customize".

  2. In the Customizer Tool, click on your avatar (profile picture) in the bottom, then select "My Fonts" from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the "Upload fonts" button, then browse and select your custom font files from your computer. Alternatively, you can drag and drop your font files directly into the upload area.

Note: You can upload individual font files or, for convenience, upload a single zipped folder containing multiple font files.

Recommended font file formats

To ensure your custom fonts display correctly and consistently across all modern web browsers and devices, we highly recommend uploading them in the following essential file formats:

  • .eot

  • .ttf

  • .woff

  • .woff2

  • .svg

If your font files are currently in a different format, you can convert them using a reliable online font converter. We recommend tools such as:

Troubleshooting for correct font rendering (naming conventions)

After uploading your fonts, it's crucial to validate their correct rendering in the "My Fonts" panel. In some instances, custom fonts may not render as expected due to incorrect file naming conventions. This can often be resolved by ensuring the font file's name accurately reflects its style properties.

We recommend structuring your font file names to include the corresponding font-style, following conventions like these examples:

  • MyCustomFont-Medium-Normal.woff2

  • MyCustomFont-Bold-Italic.ttf

  • MyCustomFont-Regular-Oblique.eot

For further details regarding font-styles and their technical specifications in web development, you may consult external web typography resources.

After successfully uploading and validating your custom fonts, you can use them in any new or existing theme customization. To apply these fonts to your theme's design elements, refer to Apply your custom fonts when customizing a theme.
