This 2-in-1 activity lets you either assess your participants by asking them to find the right answer in the image shown or simply gather their opinion. The goal: find and place the correct answer or answers on an image. It lets you test knowledge or survey your participants in a fun, visual way.
How does it work?
This activity offers two possible formats: assessment or survey.
1. Assessment format
This activity lets you measure the level of knowledge your participants have acquired and award points for each correct answer.
To take part, participants place one or more pins in the right spot(s) on the image (set by the presenter) to earn the question's points.
2. Survey mode
This activity lets you gather participants' opinions by inviting them to place a pin wherever they want on the image shown, with no right or wrong answer.
Add the activity to your session
Click Add a slide, at the top left.
Select Pin on image, at the bottom of the dropdown panel.
The activity is integrated into your presentation; it is saved automatically and appears as a slide in the navigation bar on the left. An editing panel appears automatically on the right-hand side of your screen.
Activity settings
Title and instructions
The title uses the activity's name by default. To change it, delete the automatic title and enter your own question or a custom title.
Add optional instructions to provide more detail about your activity.
Activity format
Choose the activity format: assessment or survey.
Choose the number of points to award for your question, if the activity is set to assessment format.
Add your image from your computer, from an external link (in the format recommended by Beekast), or from the royalty-free image library.
Once the image is selected, you can:
Enter the label for your answer option.
Remove the answer option (the activity requires at least one option).
Choose the shape of your answer zone: a circle or a rectangle.
Add more answer options.
Click Next to add the image and its settings.
Presentation Settings and Results
Enable the option to display the number of live participants.
Select when results are displayed: after each answer or at the end of the activity.
💡Good to know
If you choose the survey format, point assignment is disabled.
You can add a launch parameter. Refer to our article on time management settings.
In survey mode, participants cannot change their answers once submitted.
Start your activity
In participant scroll mode (self-paced mode), the activity is automatically available as soon as it's saved.
In Live scrolling mode, click the green Start button at the top right of your slide to launch it manually.
To make the activity unavailable to participants, click Stop at the top right of the slide. Participants can no longer submit new answers.
As the owner or collaborator of a session, you can take part in the activity by clicking the Participate tab, at the top of the activity slide, once it has been launched.
To take part in the activity:
Click the answer option.
Drag the pin to the desired position on the image.
Click Send to submit your answer.
For each proposed answer, the list shows which questions or options are still pending and which have already been answered.
💡Good to know
For assessment activities, participants can no longer change their answers once submitted.
Activity options
By clicking the three dots at the top right of the activity, you can at any time:
Restart it.
Edit the activity.
Duplicate it.
Eliminate the slide.
Alternatively, click the "Edit" button in the toolbar on the right side of the session.
Scores
The Pin on image activity is an assessment activity that lets your participants earn points based on the answers they select.
Participants earn points for each correct answer.
They earn no points for an incorrect answer.
Points can be viewed by presenters and participants using the My Score button, located at the top of the screen, next to the Results button. A small window provides information about the points earned and the related activities.
General podium
When the Pin on Image activity is in assessment mode, clicking the trophy icon on your activity lets you view:
The individual leaderboard, as a participant.
The team leaderboard, if you've added teams to your session.
To view the points earned across the whole session, go to the projection screen via the Present button at the top right of the session.
