Live boards are a powerful tool for tracking and managing shipments, and sharing them with others is simple and secure. Whether you need to provide visibility to external stakeholders or collaborate with your team, Beacon offers flexible sharing options to suit your needs.

Sharing Options

  1. Public Boards

    • Share a live board as a public link.

    • Anyone with the link can view the board, but they won’t have access to comment or make changes.

    • While convenient, public boards are best suited for cases where minimal interaction is required.

  2. Private Boards (Recommended)

    • Share live boards via email for enhanced security and control.

    • Recipients will need to create a password to access the board. This password provides access to the board only, not the rest of the platform.

Access Levels for Private Boards

When sharing via email, you can choose the appropriate level of access for each recipient:

  • Viewer: Can only view the board without making any changes.

  • Commenter: Can leave comments on the board but cannot make edits.

  • Collaborator: Can edit the board, including adding or removing shipments, applying filters, and adjusting settings.

How to Share a Live Board

  1. Open the Board: Navigate to the live board you want to share.

  2. Select Sharing Options: Click the Share button in the top right corner.

  3. Choose Sharing Method:

    • Public Link: Copy the link to share publicly.

    • Email Invite: Enter the recipient’s email address(es) and select their access level (Viewer, Commenter, or Collaborator).

  4. Send or Share the Link: Recipients of email invites will receive instructions to set up a password and gain access to the board.

Sharing live boards helps keep everyone on the same page, while ensuring the right level of access for every stakeholder. For optimal security and collaboration, we recommend using private boards and email sharing with specific access levels.
