Labels allow you to tag shipments at the Purchase Order (PO) level to organize and filter your data more effectively. By applying labels, you can easily categorize shipments, track progress, and create live boards that visualize key milestones and statuses.

What are Labels?

Labels are custom tags that you can assign to shipments at the Purchase Order (PO) level. These tags help you organize your shipments in a way that makes sense for your workflow, allowing you to filter, track, and report on data with greater ease. Labels can be used to categorize shipments by project, priority, destination, or any other criteria you choose.

How to Apply Labels at the PO Level

Applying labels to shipments at the PO level is simple. You can assign one or more labels to a shipment, making it easy to organize your data based on your needs. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the Purchase Order (PO) tab for your shipment.

  2. Click the pencil icon in the bottom right corner of the PO card.

  3. In the drop down, click “Create New Label” or select an existing label from the list.

  4. If you’re creating a new label, enter a name and save it.

  5. You can add multiple labels to a single PO to categorize it in various ways. Simply repeat the process for each label.

  6. Save your changes, and the labels will be applied to the PO.

How to Use Labels for Filtering Data

Labels aren’t just for organization—they also help you filter and search your shipments with precision. Here’s how you can use labels to filter your data:

  1. Go to your shipment list or dashboard.

  2. Use the label filter to select the label you want to search for.

  3. View all shipments that have that label applied, making it easier to manage specific groups of shipments.

  4. You can apply multiple filters to narrow down your search, ensuring you’re always working with the most relevant data.

Creating Live Boards with Labels

Live boards allow you to track and visualize your shipments in real-time. Labels can be used to create dynamic boards that update automatically as your shipments progress. Here’s how to create live boards using labels:

  1. Go to your Boards section.

  2. Click “Create a Live Board”.

  3. Choose the filter criteria for your board.

  4. Select the label(s) you want to use to group your shipments on the board.

  5. Save the board and it will update in real-time as your shipments progress, any shipments that have your selected label on will automatically appear on the board.

Live boards make it easy to stay on top of all your shipments, giving you a clear view of their status based on the labels you’ve applied.

By using labels, you can enhance your shipment tracking and reporting experience in Beacon. Whether you're filtering data or creating live boards, labels help you keep everything organized and easily accessible.
