Custom fields allow you to enrich your shipment data on the Beacon platform, offering more personalized and detailed visibility. Adding custom fields gives you the flexibility to display additional information that supplements the preset tracking data.

What is a Custom Field?

A custom field is a personalized data field you can create within Beacon to enhance your shipment details. This extra information helps provide more context and allows for better search and organization.

By uploading data into custom fields, you can display the information that matters most to you and your team, improving how you track and manage shipments.

How to create custom fields

Beacon allows you to add up to 10 custom fields to your account. Here’s how to create them:

  1. Go to your profile

  2. Open Settings

  3. Navigate to Custom Fields

  4. Click “Create Custom Field”

  5. Name your custom field. This is the name that will appear on all your shipments. Choose a name that clearly reflects the type of data you’ll be uploading.

Alternatively, you can create custom fields directly from the Cargo Card:

  1. Expand the cargo card

  2. Click “+ Add”

  3. Add your custom fields and Save

How to rename custom fields

You can rename your custom fields in two ways:

  1. Through Settings:

    • Go to the Settings page and click the pencil icon next to the custom field you want to edit.

    • Make your changes and save them.

  2. Directly in the Cargo Card:

    • Open the cargo card where the custom field is displayed.

    • Click the pencil icon next to the custom field you want to rename.

    • Edit the field and save the changes.

How to delete custom fields

If you wish to delete a custom field, please contact our support team via Live Chat, and we’ll assist you with the deletion process.
