Fast search fields let you search through a large number of leads in no time. This feature is therefore helpful if your database contains many leads and you have experienced long wait times when trying to find a specific lead amongst thousands using the dialer's search function.
In this article, we will walk you through setting up Fast Search and show you how it works.
Good to know about Fast search in general
By using Fast search, you’re practically getting a shortcut to the data in those fields you’ve defined as "Fast search" fields, which makes it easier for our search engine to dig through the entire database of leads. For example, setting up ‘’First name” as a Fast search field allows you to search specifically on field data for ”First name”.
How to set up Fast search fields
1. Go to Settings in the left menu and choose Account.
2. Choose Fields in the top menu. Now you get an overview of all the fields you have created.
3. Click on the field you want to convert into a Fast search field.
4. Checkmark Fast search and click Update.
5. Now, the field is pending to become a fast search field. This can take a while since the field needs to be indexed before it’s ready for use.
6. In the fields overview, you can now see the status of the field. There are three different stages it goes through, so you know when we're finished indexing:
Queued: The field is locked and awaits kick-off
Processing: Currently converting the field to an Insights field
Ready: The field is all set!
NB: To ensure the feature works properly, we’ve limited the number of fields you can convert into Fast search fields. If you need to upgrade this number, please contact our support team.
How to use Fast search
After creating your fast search fields and ensuring their status is ‘Ready,’ it’s time to use them to search for leads in the dialer.
Select Search leads from the top menu bar in the dialer.
Click on Choose field, in the pop-up, under filters to the right, toggle Fast search under Field Index Type if you only want to view the list of fast search fields.
The fast search fields are those with a 'lightning icon' - using only these makes your search much faster and enables index searching.
