This guidance outlines the mandatory pre‑requisites that must be completed before submitting a booking request for a Professional Discussion assessment in Smarter Booking.
Centres must ensure all requirements are met and evidenced to avoid delays in learner progression.
✅ Mandatory Pre‑Requisites
Before requesting a booking, the Centre must confirm that:
Employer Confirmation is completed and recorded for each learner
Practical Project assessment has been completed
These steps are mandatory and must be in place prior to progressing to the Professional Discussion assessment.
📄 Employer Confirmation Requirements
The Employer Confirmation Form provides EAL with verification that the required steps, as set out in the qualification manual, have been completed.
This includes confirmation that:
The learner is ready to progress to the Professional Discussion
Key components of the qualification have been achieved
The Centre has met required quality checks
🔍 EQA and Quality Assurance Checks
The Employer Confirmation Form may be used by EAL to:
Identify any required actions relating to Employer Confirmation
Confirm successful External Quality Assurance (EQA) checks
Provide evidence that the learner is ready to progress
The form may be returned to the Centre where actions are required.
📌 Centre Responsibilities
The Centre is responsible for ensuring that:
The ‘Employer Confirmation Form’ (from the Employer Confirmation Guide) is completed
The form is uploaded into Smarter Booking as evidence
All required documentation is accurate and complete before booking
🔗 Refer to the Employer Confirmation Guide for full details.
⚠️ Important
If any issues relating to Employer Confirmation are identified and are not resolved before requesting the booking of external assessment, this may result in:
Delays to the booking process
Delays to the learner’s timely completion of the qualification
Centres should ensure all actions are addressed in advance of submitting a booking request.
