What happens if the apprentice disagrees with their result?

Written by Lucy Kelford

If an apprentice does not agree with the outcome of their End-Point Assessment (EPA), they have the right to challenge the result through the formal appeals process.

Submitting an Appeal

  • The appeal must be submitted by the training provider on behalf of the apprentice

  • To do this, the provider must:

    • Complete the official EAL appeals form in full

    • Submit the completed form via email to:
      📧 compliance@eal.org.uk

Incomplete forms or missing information may delay the review process.

Appeals Deadline

  • Appeals must be submitted within 10 working days of receiving the statement of results

  • Appeals submitted after this deadline may not be accepted, so it is important to act promptly

Accessing the Appeals Form and Policy

  • The appeals form and full appeals policy are available on the EAL website

  • A direct link to these documents is also typically included within the statement of results issued to the provider

Important Considerations

  • Appeals should clearly outline the grounds for the challenge and include any supporting evidence where applicable

  • The process will be conducted in line with EAL’s formal appeals procedure

  • Outcomes will be communicated once the review has been completed
