What does the learner need to bring for their EPA?

L
Written by Lucy Kelford

The requirements for what a learner must bring to their End-Point Assessment (EPA) will vary depending on whether the assessment is conducted remotely or on-site. These requirements are in place to ensure the security, integrity, and validity of the assessment.

Remote Assessments

For EPA conducted remotely (via Microsoft Teams), the learner must have the following:

1. Valid Photo Identification

  • A physical form of photo ID is required

  • Acceptable examples include:

    • Passport

    • Driving licence

  • The Independent End-Point Assessor will verify the learner’s identity at the start of the assessment

2. Suitable Technology

  • A device with a working camera and microphone (e.g. laptop or desktop)

  • A stable internet connection to ensure the assessment can run without disruption

3. Controlled Environment Requirements

  • The learner must be in a quiet, private space, free from interruptions

  • At the start of the assessment, the learner will be asked to provide a 360-degree view of the room using their camera

This is required to:

  • Confirm the learner is alone

  • Ensure there is no unauthorised support or materials present

  • Maintain a controlled assessment environment

On-Site Assessments

For assessments conducted in person:

1. Valid Photo Identification

  • The learner must bring a physical form of photo ID (e.g. passport or driving licence)

  • This will be checked by the assessor to confirm identity prior to the assessment

No additional equipment is typically required, as the assessment environment and any necessary materials will be provided on-site.
