What is the process if a gateway component is rejected?

L
Written by Lucy Kelford

If a gateway component is rejected during the review process, training providers will need to review the feedback, make the necessary corrections, and resubmit the learner.

Identifying the Reason for Rejection

When a component is rejected:

  • The reason will be clearly recorded in ACE360

  • Providers can locate this information on the learner’s profile, under the relevant component

  • Feedback will be provided in the “Rejection Notes” section

These notes will outline:

  • What is missing, incorrect, or does not meet requirements

  • What actions are needed to resolve the issue

Correcting and Re-Uploading Evidence

After reviewing the rejection notes, the provider should:

  • Update or replace the evidence to address the feedback provided

  • Ensure the revised documentation fully meets the gateway requirements for that component

  • Upload the corrected evidence against the relevant component in ACE360

Resubmitting the Learner

Once the required amendments have been made:

  • The provider must resubmit the learner for gateway review

  • The updated component(s) will then be reassessed by EAL

Progression to EPA

  • Each gateway component must be individually approved

  • Once all components have been approved, the learner will be confirmed as approved for EPA

  • The apprentice can then progress to end-point assessment (EPA)
