If you notice any errors or inaccuracies in a learner's issued certificate, the EAL Customer Experience Team can assist you in amending the certificate.

The majority of the amendments we process involve minor typos, misspellings of learner names, and names being inputted in the wrong order, such as the surname being entered in the first name field.

It's important to know that we cannot consider any name amendments via Deed Poll issued after the certification date, as it is against our Certification Policy.

If you are uncertain whether a name amendment is possible, please contact our Customer Experience Team and we will confirm the amendment's feasibility and recommend next steps.

To amend a name on an already issued certificate, we require the original hardcopy certificate to be returned as we cannot have incorrect certificates in circulation.

You must send the original certificate along with the following documents and information:

  • A scan or clear photo of the learner's ID (such as a Passport or Driver's License)

  • A cover letter with clear instructions on how the name should read on the certificate

  • A PO number to cover reprint charges (if necessary)

Our Watford office address is:

EAL Customer Experience Team

Unit 2, The Orient Centre

Greycaine Road

Watford

Hertfordshire

WD24 7GP

Once we receive the original certificate, we will send a confirmation email, amend the name, and issue a reprint. Replacement certificates are subject to a standard fee of £30.00 (+VAT). Please provide a PO number if necessary for your invoice.
