Your Centre EQA will be required to carry out Centre engagements to monitor your qualification delivery, how your quality assure the delivery of the qualifications you deliver, and your arrangements for moderation. Your assigned AO moderator may be different from your assigned Centre EQA depending on the qualifications and units you deliver.

Your EQA may request records of interim IQA monitoring, sampling, and ongoing moderation on completed unit outcomes to evaluate the quality of assessment or ask to observe assessment, interview learners and staff.

Positive indicators that may influence the Centre and EQA moderation sample could include:

  • Robust policies and procedures are adhered to by the assessment team

  • Rigorous quality assurance processes, consistently applied

  • Regular, well-managed standardisation actives are evident

  • The Centre maintains a robust administrative process

  • Pro-active risk assessments are evident in the management of staff and qualification delivery.

  • Staff profiles are checked, maintained, and supported by relevant CPD

  • Sufficient time is provided to staff to conduct their functions effectively

  • Positive Learner feedback

  • Positive Staff feedback

  • Opportunities for moderation training

  • History of providing accurate and consistent results

For further guidance please refer to the EAL Centre Requirements for Moderation of Centre Marked Assessments document which you can find located in the Document Library in Smarter Touch.

Alternatively please contact your assigned EQA or our Customer Experience Team either on live chat, email: customer.experience@eal.org.uk, or phone: 01923 652400
