EAL Document Templates

EAL will provide document templates for Centre’s that they must use in this process to record the outcomes of Moderation and Learner results for claims.

It is important the EQA ensure the Centers use and retain these documents for their delivery in electronic format to ensure they can be shared/uploaded electronically to Smarter Touch when preparing for a Centre engagement for AO moderation.

The Moderation recording documents are designed to encompass Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), to ensure Moderation is a feature of your IQA strategy.

EAL have provided Centers with a new IQA process and recording documents building on the guidance your EQA has presented on risk-based approach to quality assurance.

Document Templates Available

Please see Smarter Touch document library for key documents including:

  • Moderation sampling form

  • Rank order document

  • EAL’s IQA guidance & Documents

Advice and Guidance

Your centre EQA will be able to advise you on all aspects of your moderation function and EAL recommends you take the earliest opportunity to discuss with your EQA your approach and sampling strategy.

Edit September 2024: For further support you can also view EAL's Centre Moderation Guidance Video which you can find in the Document Library in your Smarter Touch account.

EAL will be gathering feedback from Centres to understand their training and development needs in relation to moderation and will develop further support to improvement the quality and delivery of EAL Centre marked assessments.

For further guidance please refer to the EAL Centre Requirements for Moderation of Centre Marked Assessments document which you can find located in the Document Library in Smarter Touch.

Alternatively please contact your assigned EQA or our Customer Experience Team either on live chat, email: customer.experience@eal.org.uk, or phone: 01923 652400
